 At Southern California Drug Treatment, we believe strongly in the principles behind the 12-step programs. When alcoholism and addiction are treated as a disease rather than a type of weakness of character or other disorder, it allows both the client and the friends and family of the client to be more accepting and easily achieve a positive outlook on the treatment.
The first step of our treatment program as stated in 12-step literature is admitting that there is a problem. By admitting there is a problem, it allows both our staff and our client to reach an agreement that there is an issue that merits treatment. When someone is unable to recognize that a problem exists, it makes treatment and rehabilitation a great deal more difficult.
We start with an initial evaluation conducted by a licensed professional – depending on the situation this could mean either a therapist or a doctor. We are completely devoted to providing the best, most personalized and customized care, framed within a 12-step format that has been proven time and time again to work.
The programs we use feature group and individual counseling, coping skills training, stress management, nutritional guidance and health, as well as instruction in meditation and relaxation techniques. Each patient's program has the specialized components at the core that address your unique needs, your goals, and addictive patterns and destructive behaviors.
Upon the evaluation of the individual a treatment strategy is implemented that is agreed on by both the individual and the therapist. This is the type of trusting relationship that is so important to the beginning stages of recovery. Our clients are also encouraged to build healthy, meaningful, sober, platonic relationships with our other clients.
We can accommodate your needs whether you decide you'd like the ongoing support of a sober living environment or need only to stay for a short time. The most important thing is that your treatment doesn't need to end when your insurance runs out. Our clients have the choice to arrange to stay for as long as they feel they are benefiting from treatment. |
